Directions Leaving Ulverston via the A590, driving in the direction of Barrow. Shortly after coming off the dual carriageway and just as the road starts to level, you will see the construction works for the new emergency 'Blue Light' centre. Turn right just after this onto a small lane by Hillfoot Garden Centre. Continue driving along here, through a sharp right/left bend and then along a straight section of road. You will very shortly see a y-shaped junction with a Poole Townsend for sale board for Croppers Cottage. Bear right, then immediately left on to the stone covered driveway. Croppers Cottage is at the top of the drive.
Location Croppers Cottage is one of only three properties that form this exclusive development of a former farmhouse and barns.
The immediate area is a blanket of open green fields with lanes snaking their way through to the nearby village of Pennington where there is a primary school, village hall/community centre and also a mot/car garage. Ulverston is a short drive in the opposite direction, providing many warm and welcoming pubs, cafes and restaurants.
There is an indoor/outdoor market, cinema, shops and banks, post office, Booths supermarket, Tesco, Co-op, primary and secondary schools, buses and railway station etc.
Description This fabulous barn was converted and finished to a high standard approximately 9 years ago by a respected local builder. A beautiful oak style finish to the floor extends throughout the entire property (except rear porch), even to the staircase that guides you to the first floor landing area.
The lounge-dining space is generously proportioned and naturally light with floor-to-ceiling glazing to the front elevation with a central door opening into a forecourt patio area. There is a further window with built-in seat, alongside the beautifully finished stone built fireplace with a multi-fuel stove set within.
Beyond the living space is the fitted kitchen, a good size room with ample wall and base cupboards finished with a walnut wood effect finish to the cabinets and a contrasting coloured laminate worktop with an inset sink with mixer tap. There is also a low level oven with stainless steel trim and glass door, an electric hob and concealed cooker hood, an integrated fridge, a freezer and washing machine.
The multi-pane window behind the sink overlooks the lovely gardens and beyond to the adjacent fields.
A private WC with wash basin is also within the ground floor accommodation, providing an invaluable extra facility. The ground floor is completed with a double guest bedroom that also enjoys a lovely view into the rear garden.
Upstairs, this fine home boasts two wonderful double bedrooms, both with fitted wardrobe furniture and both enjoy the delightful rural views.
The family sized bathroom has a p-shaped bath with a curved shower screen and mixer shower. There is also close coupled WC and pedestal wash basin with tiled splashback and wall mounted mirror.
Externally, there are colourful gardens to the rear with a shaped lawn, patio and summerhouse with electric supply. There are also two allocated parking spaces for the property with an additional visitor's space.
