A handsome house with outstanding views across the Borders countryside

Completed in late 2006 and designed by the local architect Aitken Turnbull of Hawick, Borthside is constructed of harled block beneath a slate roof and is accessed off a quiet B road onto a shared driveway opening onto a gravel parking and turning area.

The accommodation, which is immaculately presented, has a good mix of generous sized reception rooms and bedrooms all of which have luxurious en-suite shower or bathrooms. A large reception hall makes the house feel particularly spacious upon entering and provides good circulation space to the rest of the house.

The house has been designed to a high standard including a bespoke kitchen with granite work surfaces and cherry units, a built in coffee maker, Bosch microwave and grill, double oven and a gas / electric range. Other features of the house include engineered oak flooring, a cupola in the bedroom wing and several balconies on which it is possible to enjoy the views of the countryside beyond.

On the lower ground floor there is a leisure area with a 10 metre swimming pool, spa Jacuzzi and changing rooms with power shower. Double doors give access to a south facing patio area.
