I really felt lucky when I bought this property almost 20 years ago. Ray Mill Road East maisonettes hardly ever came on the market with their large, airy rooms, off road parking and big private garden.
The location so close to the Thames and the leafy, tree-lined road blew me away.
I love the bright and airy rooms and the amount of beautiful light and birdsong that the large windows let in.
The enclosed back garden was a haven to snooze in in the sun and have friends round for BBQs. My car was safe on my own driveway.
I walked to and from Maidenhead station most days from where I could be in Paddington in 20 minutes. It might be even quicker now with the Elizabeth Line and Crossrail. Being able to get into London so quickly but escape to a lovely, tree lined riverside home gave me the best of both worlds.
The neighbours are an added bonus. Kind, friendly neighbours. If I ever needed help they were there.
I got to know the towpath really well, often walking to Cookham for Sunday lunch or cycling to Windsor for a cold beer and back before sundown. If you’re an early morning runner you might glimpse a timid munkjack on the road nearby.
I’m sad to say goodbye to this spacious, beautiful home.
The draw to move back home to N.Ireland to be near family again was too strong.
I know whoever is lucky enough to move into number 98 will love the lifestyle that it will bring.
