There’s something wonderfully cosy about this three-bedroom Edwardian conversion in Crouch End. Beautiful hardwood floors run through the home, anchoring rooms that feel made for actual living. Life centres around the reception room, with the kitchen tucked just off this sociable space. Details bring plenty of character, while the bathroom proves that modern updates needn’t mean clinical: You’ll want to linger here.
The principal bedroom makes clever use of its bay window, with gorgeous panelling framing the bed and floor-to-ceiling storage keeping everything under control. The second bedroom comes with its own sunroom - a charming quirk that could become a light-filled studio, home office or third bedroom. It’s the sort of space that adapts as life does.
Then there’s Crouch End itself. Drinks at The Queen’s, bread from Sourdough Sophia, coffee at But First, Coffee, pizza at Pizzeria Pappagone, and Les 2 Garçons for date nights: It delivers time and again. Add good transport links, parks and cycleways and you’ve got a very good place to put down roots.
The owners say
Crouch End is a lovely place to live, especially the cafés for breakfast and the pubs. We sometimes watch comedy in The King's Head, and The Railway hosts live Irish music and an open mic night. We probably frequent Udderlicious the most though; our kids love the ice cream.
Stationers Park is just one street away and is great for little kids. We also spend time in nearby Priory Park. One of our favourite places is Parkland Walk, which is just at the bottom of the hill. From here we usually run in Finsbury Park and onto Clissold Park.
We've loved the flat itself; the high ceilings, the period features, the original wood panelling, and a bedroom with a view of Ally Pally is hard to beat. And it's set on a quiet, lovely, friendly street. We are very sad to be leaving but life has evolved, so we must too.
