Location
This imposing and handsome property offers both history and location. Designed and built in 1826 as The West Sussex, East Hampshire and Chichester General Infirmary and Dispensary, it was later appointed royal status by King George V in 1913 and was renamed The Royal West Sussex Hospital. Dr Forbes a renowned local medical practitioner, in who's honour the building is now named, was appointed its first superintendent. The property is a short walk to the Festival Theatre and onto the city centre of the cathedral city of Chichester. There is excellent high street shopping, many fashionable restaurants, cafes and bars and a mainline station to London Victoria. Goodwood to the north is famous for its many event days including the world renowned Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival for motor racing enthusiasts and a season of horse racing including the Qatar Goodwood Festival. There are superb sailing facilities around Chichester Harbour and water sports from the beaches at West Wittering. The area is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts, with beautiful walks and cycle tracks over the South Downs and around the harbour.
