We brought 7 Ducketts Mead as a new build back in 2007.
We love the estate and the surrounding areas. Asda, Marks and Spencer’s and the Leisure Centre is only a 15 minute walk through the lovely woodland areas at the back of the estate.
You can be on the M4 within 5 minutes and the bus stop into reading is just footsteps away. It was just perfect for our commuting needs.
We chose Ducketts Mead over other recently build estates as it had a much smaller amount houses, didn’t feel too large, and the estate has a real sense of community. Everyone knows each other and it’s just a lovely place to live.
Our house was perfect for us. Throughout the years we’ve continued to upgrade and improve the space. We added a conservatory which was perfect as a playroom for our girls.
We’ve fully landscaped the garden so it has minimal upkeep, it feels like another room during the summer.
The house has seen our family grow but sadly the time has come to upsize. We won’t be going far, our two oldest are happily settled into Maiden Erlegh School with our youngest starting in September.

We might be a little biased here as Dan used to live in Ducketts Mead, but we can absolutely attest to what an awesome location it is! We also love townhouses as the accommodation is so flexible to utilise however it's going to work best for you. Firstly, you've got a lovely big entrance hall with a newly fitted kitchen to the front, downstairs loo and then leading into an 'L' shaped lounge/diner with a conservatory opening into the garden. The conservatory lends itself perfectly to a playroom and the garden is south-easterly facing so lovely and sunny, with gated rear access to the garage & parking. The first floor is where it gets interesting - originally built as a three bed, there is a huge double bedroom spanning the width of the house that the current owners have split into two bedrooms. This can easily be changed back, or kept as is. There's also another bedroom & refitted family bathroom off of the lovely bright landing here. The top floor is home to the main bedroom suite with tonnes of storage, big bay window and en-suite shower room with a sky light.

Shinfield is always a popular area thanks to it's proximity to Reading & Wokingham as well as the excellent transport links with the M4 & Green Park just a short distance away. There's plenty of local shops & pubs nearby as well as plenty of beautiful walks. Dan used to live here so is ready to share all the local hotspots and answer any questions you have on your appointment!
