Living in Notting Hill

Notting Hill's enduring popularity with the cosmopolitan set can be attributed to a distinctive mix of stunning period homes, a thriving creative community and vibrant, youthful energy.

Transport

Notting Hill Gate tube station is on the Central, District and Circle Lines. Other nearby tube stations include Ladbroke Grove, Latimer Road, Queensway, Bayswater, High Street Kensington, Lancaster Gate and Paddington.

The Heathrow Express runs from Notting Hill's nearest mainline station, which is Paddington.

History and culture

The very mention of Notting Hill conjures images of the world-famous Notting Hill Carnival, a massive celebration of Caribbean food, music, culture and people. This colourful festival spills into the streets of Notting Hill every August, attracting millions of visitors from around the world.

The area came to further international attention in 1999 with the release of the romantic comedy film 'Notting Hill', starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts. Since the early days of its development in the 1820s, Notting Hill's association with artists and creative culture has cultivated a unique area with a chic, energetic atmosphere.
