Harcla House sits in mature gardens with a range of fine outbuildings and a paddock, all tucked away in a peaceful village location.

Entering into the welcoming hallway, the character of Harcla House is immediately apparent. The reception rooms; drawing room, dining room and sitting room, sit to the front elevation with views across stunning countryside to Blencathra, The Calf of Sedbergh and round to the Pennines. These rooms are spacious and light with feature fireplaces. The dining room has a beautiful original wall cupboard with passes through to the kitchen. The stunning refurbished kitchen offers an impressive range of units and cabinetry, along with a range cooker and a breakfast bar. There is also a study on the ground floor which is the perfect spot for working from home, along with a useful WC.

The stunning wooden staircase sweeps up to the first floor via a half landing with elegant feature window. There are five bedrooms with varying outlooks. Those to the front benefit from the wonderful panoramic views. Character features include cast iron fireplaces and ceiling roses. The bedrooms are served by two family bathrooms, one with a wonderful free-standing roll-top bath and walk-in shower cubicle, and a similarly smart and luxurious en-suite to the principal bedroom.

Externally
Everyday access is through the enclosed gated garden which is laid to lawn and leads to the back door of Harcla House. The main gardens lie to the front and are again mainly laid to lawn with mature planting and a vegetable garden, along with a traditional sandstone flagged pathway; there is also a garden WC. An expansive enclosed yard is surrounded by a range of outbuildings, some with beautiful sandstone archways over the doorways. The barn features traditional beams whilst the stable has a cobbled floor. There is an old coach house, pig house, log shed, poultry house and a sandstone built well. A gateway and lonning lead to the paddock off the yard. The paddock extends to around 0.32 acres in all.
