Springfield Rag Room is a Grade II listed Office building, dating back to 1806, situated on the edge of Maidstone Town Centre. For historic interest, it is the last surviving original building of Springfield Mill, the world's first paper mill to successfully be powered by steam. For architectural interest, the continuous upper floor glazing reflects its function, maximising daylight to enable the sorting of rags, originally the raw material for paper making.
