Property description
This magnificent mountain guesthouse is situated in an excellent location with sunshine throughout the day and sightline-protected far-ranging views. It offers an escape throughout the year, coupled with high-end cuisine and irresistibly charming overnight accommodations.
The property comprises a main building with a restaurant and hostelry, a beautiful mountain hut with 4.5 rooms, plus a former barn serving as a storeroom.
All buildings date from 1900. The main building and the mountain hut have been renovated to create a well-presented, stylish mountain oasis.
The floors above the restaurant have seven double rooms, two family suites, plus a dormitory with 14 single beds.
The mountain hut can either be hired out to guests or kept as a blissful retreat oasis for the owners.
Please note this property is subject to Swiss residency permit requirements.
Klosters im Prättigau, with 4,500 or so inhabitants, celebrated its 800-year jubilee in 2022, commemorating the first time that the place was documented. It owes its name to a former abbey, the Klösterli im Walt. This burned down in 1621, leaving nothing more than the Romanesque tower standing. This was later incorporated into the famed protestant church and still forms the focal highlight of Klosters-Platz to this day.
Pleasantly compact, the municipality is set in stunning natural surroundings and is renowned as a tourist destination far beyond its national borders - the pictures of Prince Charles, as he was then, and his family holidaying here remain unforgettable. This hardly comes as a surprise in the light of its access to 6 ski resorts in the region Davos-Klosters, more than 40 kilometres of prepared cross-country trails, and fabulous walking and biking routes, not to mention easy accessibility from the lowlands.
Despite all that, the atmosphere here is still low-key and dignified. Those who have made it their permanent home enjoy a high quality of life with a wide array of cultural attractions, along with good shopping amenities and the full range of schooling available locally from kindergarten to secondary level.
