The Village is known for the artistic colony and flamboyant social life of the Bloomsbury Group at Garsington Manor which was the home from 1914 to 1928 of Phillip and Ottoline Morrell and for the Garsington Opera, which was staged there from 1989 to 2010. The opera is still known as the Garsington Opera and now performs at Wormsley near Stokenchurch Bucks. There is the Parish church of St Marys and a C of E Primary School. We fell in love with our house the first time we viewed it. The house is airy and light with beautiful views and it felt like home immediately. One of the nicest things about it is that you can watch the sun set every evening, in all seasons, weather permitting. In the morning it is nice to sit in the kitchen, dining room or garden and look out at the countryside and relax. Our neighbours on both sides are lovely (both having grown up children) and we have always felt very safe here. Garsington is a very pretty, friendly village with a lovely village hall, a pub, a social club and playing fields. There are also a number of clubs and societies to join and a regular Garsington newsletter with a great deal of local information is delivered to your home.
