Flagstones is delighted to present a spacious two-bedroom apartment in Balfron Tower, Erno Goldfinger’s Brutalist landmark, newly designed by Ab Rogers.
Designed by Ab Rogers as part of the retrofit of Balfron Tower, an east London landmark, this apartment has a colour palette inspired by Erno Goldfinger’s archive and fixtures chosen to last. It comes fully furnished with bespoke pieces made for the building, including a mid-century-style sofa, a bouclé armchair, a terrazzo coffee table and a dining table with curved-back chairs. Bedrooms have ottoman storage beds with upholstered headboards and solid wood furniture.
The sociable galley kitchen has heritage grey cabinetry, bar stools and integrated Bosch appliances, including an oven, microwave, induction hob, fridge-freezer and dishwasher.
About the building
Balfron Tower is a listed icon of post-war modernism. Hungarian-born architect Erno Goldfinger designed it in the emerging Brutalist style as the centrepiece of the three-building Brownfield Estate. The “older sibling” of North Kensington’s Trellick Tower, it was Goldfinger’s vision of a vertical neighbourhood and an antidote to suburban sprawl. In 1968 he lived here himself, in flat 130 with his wife Ursula.
