The Benahavís Area Guide

Benahavís is a town nestled in the mountains in Marbella, southern Spain, and is only 7 km away from the ocean. The area has a significant amount of history dating back to the 11th century when it was founded by the Moors, and its name derives from Arabic, meaning son of Havís, an 11th century Moorish prince. With close proximity to the Costa del Sol and the awe-inspiring mountains of the Serrania de Ronda also close by, the area is very diverse in its terrain, as the town itself is filled with gorgeous parkland and rivers. Benahavís is known to locals as the 'Rincón de la Gastronomía', (or the 'dining room' of the Costa del Sol), because of the amount of fine restaurants in the area.

Benahavís is considered as being a very privileged and exclusive location to live, with incredible views of up to 100 km, including the coastline and north Africa. The diversity of the land makes it an ideal place to go hiking and exploring.
