Description
In the heart of Spoleto, between the Town Hall and the Cathedral, this monumental 1492 residence-on the first floor of Palazzo Pagani-stands as a living masterpiece, preserving its original Renaissance finishes.
The property is defined by its legendary connecting gallery that arches over the street below, framing one of the world's most photographed vistas On this side, the estate culminates on the top floor with a majestic, suspended panoramic loggia, offering breathtaking views over Piazza del Duomo, Sant'Eufemia, and the historic rooftops.
The entrance opens into a monumental shared courtyard, embellished with a polychrome string-course and 1570 Mannerist graffiti. The Piano Nobile is accessed via imposing portals leading to the private foyer and the sumptuous reception room, featuring magnificent frescoed ceilings, antique terracotta floors, and period canvases whose attire inspired Luchino Visconti.
From here, one enters the celebrated covered bridge, adorned with grotesque frescoes, leading to the private chapel and an expansive terrace with wooden ceilings and decorated tiles. The interiors unfold into extraordinary themed salons with Renaissance coffered ceilings, including the Chinese Parlor with its marble fireplace and the formal dining room. The private quarters house elegant conversation lounges, a library, and prestigious suites. A traditional kitchen and two bathrooms complete the floor.
The estate includes two ground-floor storerooms with access from Piazza Campello, featuring Roman remnants that bear witness to the millennial origins of the palace.
