The town is also famous for its production of brightly coloured, sugared almonds ‘Confetti di Sulmona' which can be purchased in the many specialist shops. There are also exceptional places to eat and drink. Each Saturday, there is a popular market selling seasonal produce, the ingredients to recreate the fabulous dishes of the area.

There are many events that take place in the city and surrounding district including historic pageants, jousting and festivals to celebrate locally produced food and wine.
