The original building dates from the early 19th century at the behest of Isabella Velo, a cultured, strong and gentle woman who gave the villa a footprint in which memories of the Baths of Caracalla, revisited through the designs of Palladio, are mingled, while the floors of the main floor are transformed into sumptuous marble carpets covered by the fragments of oriental and African marbles from the excavations of the Roman Baths.
