Arischia - l'aquila province

The village of Arischia is a frazione or parish of the city of l-Aquila. It is located at an altitude of 860 metres above sea level and has a population of 829. Although its origins are unclear, archaeological findings indicate that Arischia existed in Roman Times.

The village has a bank, some food shops, a couple of bars and restaurants. More facilities can be found in l-Aquila.

Each October, Arischia holds a famous festival. There are lots of exhibitions and activities for all the family to participate in. There are food stalls to suit all tastes; beekeeping demonstrations; horse and dog shows; dancing; local craft stalls; a beer festival with music; and much more.

Arischia is a perfect base for exploring the flora, fauna and dramatic scenery of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park. There are also many outdoor activities to enjoy in the surrounding area.
