The house has very efficient under floor heating, and also solar panels for hot water, backed up by the oil fired boiler on the lower floor. The boiler has a 3000 litre underground diesel oil tank.

There is also a separate 6m x 6m shelter for the horses on the far side of the open area. The equestrian area is about 8000 m2, and there is a training field, a 330 m circular running track, and full flood lighting for night time use. The stables have been built with full drainage systems in place, and the main area has a geotextile base with albero sand and water cannons to keep it moist. The stables are built of fireproof wood with insulation betwen the layers. There are hot water showers for the horses, and a sprinkler system is in place for fire safety. There are also smoke alarms and automatic locks which would release in the event of fire. At the rear of the stables, there is space to add more boxes, if needed. Also there is plenty of parking space too.
