Development info
Wormit is an attractive town on the south side of the Firth of Tay in north-east Fife. Naughton Meadows phase 2 is our select collection of brand new homes with a range of three, four and five-bedroom property styles - ideal if you're looking for your first home or for more room for a growing family.
The town has a range of local services and Dundee is just 7 miles away, an easy 15 minute drive via the Tay Road Bridge from Newport-on-Tay. There you'll have all the amenities of a large city for both work and pleasure. It's an easy journey to Cupar, St Andrews, and Perth too. The rural Fife Peninsula offers even more, with the unspoilt countryside and coastline of the Tentsmuir National Nature Reserve to the west of the town. Head inland and you can trace the shores of the famous River Tay, Scotland's longest river.
Leisure
For those of you who enjoy sport there are good facilities in town, with tennis, bowling and a boating club within easy reach. There is also a golf course and Waterstone Crook Sports Centre close-by.
Education
The development is ideal for families as the town has its own school, Wormit Primary School, under a mile away. The school has a self-contained nursery and seven classes for older children. For secondary school aged children there is Madras College in St Andrews. Across the river, there's the world-renowned University of Dundee.
Shopping
The small town of Wormit has a country feel to it and enjoys a great location on the south bank of the Firth of Tay. It's said to have been the first town in Scotland to be lit by electricity by way of a windmill located on Wormit Hill generating power. These days the town caters for everyday needs with a local shop, Post Office and hairdresser. For a larger selection of shops, Dundee is just a short trip across the River Tay and has fantastic shopping.
Transport
The development's proximity to the A92 makes it an excellent base for commuting north to Dundee and Aberdeen, or south to Kirkcaldy and Edinburgh. There are local buses running to Dundee, St Andrews and serving the surrounding areas. Dundee airport is just 8.4 miles away with its daily services to London, and there are also two train stations nearby – all perfect for commuting or days out.
