Surrounded by woodland, Birchwood Manor is a self-contained development on the outskirts of Gateshead and Newcastle. There are excellent links to the A1, A19 and A186, that make it as easy to get into the city as it is to escape to the country.

Whether you are looking for a 2-bedroom starter home or a 5-bedroom family home, Birchwood Manor offers families and professionals the choice and flexibility they are looking for, and is set to be one of the North East’s leading and most welcoming developments.

This is a great location for work and pleasure, for the city life of Newcastle, the countryside of the Northumberland National Park and the Durham Dales, and the North East coastline. Along with flights from Newcastle International Airport and ferries from the North Shields ferry terminal, you’ll have the perfect choice of home and away.

Leisure

Fancy a day out? Birchwood Manor is a short distance from the Northumberland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the stunning beaches of the North East coastline. Newcastle city centre and Gateshead’s Metro Centre tick the box for a dedicated shopping trip, but in complete contrast to the bright lights, one of Europe's largest Dark Skies Parks, in the Northumberland National Park, has international acclaim and is only just over an hour away. It will take your breath away.

Shopping

Newcastle’s vibrant city centre is just 4 miles away, across the famous River Tyne. Sunderland is 10 miles away and the historic cathedral city of Durham is 15 miles away. A short trip on the metro will take you into the heart of Newcastle for shops, restaurants and nightlife. There’s competition from Gateshead’s popular Metrocentre too. This huge purpose-built retail and easy eating-out venue is a 20-minute drive from Birchland Manor.

Transport

Birchwood Manor has the benefit of easy access to a range of convenient routes between Gateshead, Newcastle and Sunderland, and further afield to Durham and Middlesbrough. The A184 runs close by and provides a connection with the great north-south route of the A19, just below Jarrow. If you need to head south, the A194(M) joins the A1(M) at Washington. The Tyne and Wear Metro system is another excellent service, with local stations at Pelaw and Heyworth. North Shields ferry terminal is a short drive away and Newcastle International Airport is just 12 miles away.
