About Shared Ownership
Shared Ownership is a government backed Part Buy/Part Rent scheme designed to help you take that first step on the property ladder.
It is designed to be a stepping stone to completely owning your own home, allowing you to buy further shares in the property when you can afford to.
At Blenheim Gardens, you can purchase a share in a new home from 50% up to a maximum of 75% of the initial purchase price, subject to eligibility and qualifying conditions. You will be expected to purchase the maximum share you can afford and sustain in the long term via savings and a mortgage, and this will be dependent on your income and savings (for your deposit), and any financial commitments you may already have. There will also be a monthly service charge payable.
Advantages of Shared Ownership
The perfect first step onto the property ladder.
You only need a deposit for the share you are buying.
You can buy more shares as you can afford more.
More security of tenure.
Personalise your home - unlike renting, you can choose to decorate your home, your way.
About Blenheim Gardens
In a peaceful setting on the edge of North Weald, Blenheim Gardens is in a fantastic location close to open countryside.
The ancient woodland of Epping Forest, 5,900 acres of former royal forest, is perfect for bicycle rides, walking and horse riding, and is host to events throughout the year. You can visit Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge, or explore the remains of two large Iron Age forts.
The village of North Weald has a selection of shops and pubs including a newsagent, post office, chemist and farm shop, and is less than four miles from Epping High Street's wide array of boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants. Epping is a delightful market town with many historic buildings, along with a weekly market.
Five miles to the north is Harlow, a hub for everything from retail to arts, culture, sport, nature and theatre. There are two main shopping areas: The Water Gardens and the Harvey Centre, both with a selection of restaurants and shops including Next, H&M, Costa Coffee and Nando's.
There are lots of green spaces to explore and a large cycle network for sightseeing. Known for its sculpture trail through the town, you can find works created by artists both famous and lesser known dotted around the main squares, buildings and schools. There's even an informative app to help plan your route.
For the ultimate in retail therapy, nearby Loughton and Buckhurst Hill boast many fashionable boutiques, beauty salons, stylish bars and restaurants. The popular town of Brentwood is within easy reach, and the acclaimed Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford, is only a 30 minute drive away.
