We asked them what made them buy it...
“The first thing that struck us was the garden. It was fantastic, and much bigger than other similar houses we’d seen. The bedrooms were a great size too. And we loved how close it is to town, but not too close. The street is very quiet. The houses are close together, but it never feels overcrowded, and the neighbours are so friendly. They’re always happy to take a parcel in! Sanders Park is a favourite, with lots of green space to walk the dogs, and there are great places to eat in Bromsgrove. The M42 and M5 are very close, and buses run from the top of the road to Worcester, Redditch and Birmingham.”
What about the house itself?
“We spend most of our time in the kitchen/diner. We removed a wall to open it up, and it changed how we live as a family. It’s a great space to cook and chat with family and friends, and guests always comment on how spacious it is, and how cosy the living room feels. The house sits quite high, so in summer the sun floods every room. It’s lovely and bright, then really cosy in the autumn and winter, especially with the log burner on. We’ve had lots of barbecues in the garden, celebrated ‘big’ birthdays out there, and now we love spending time in it with our grandson. Over the years we’ve put in a new boiler and a new kitchen, new radiators in the kitchen, lounge and bathroom, a log burner, new joists and flooring in the lounge, a self-cleaning oven and a brand new integrated dishwasher. The back and side of the house have been repointed too. We’ll miss the garden, the log burner, the kitchen and our lovely neighbours. It would be perfect for a couple starting out, or with a child.”
Our agents say...
Step inside and you’ll see straight away that this home has been decorated with real care. The hallway and landing are finished in a classic two-tone Victorian-style scheme, divided by a dado rail, and both bedrooms have elegant wall panelling. It all feels considered, from top to bottom.
The lounge sits at the front, with a bay window dressed with bespoke fitted shutters. At the back, the kitchen/dining room has a spacious feel, with a decorative floor, a five-ring gas hob and plenty of room for a dining table, plus a door straight out to the garden. The washing machine and tumble dryer tuck away in a handy utility cupboard, so the laundry stays out of sight.
Upstairs, the main bedroom has its own built-in wardrobe, bedroom two looks out over the garden, and the family bathroom completes the picture. There’s a large loft too, ideal for storage.
Then there’s the outside. The garden is mainly laid to lawn, with a raised timber deck for morning coffee and long summer evenings. Side access means bikes and bins never need to come through the house. And out front, the driveway takes two cars. Around here, that’s a real bonus.
Families can tap into Bromsgrove’s three-tier school system, with Millfields First School, Parkside Middle School and North Bromsgrove High School all nearby. Bromsgrove town centre is within easy reach, and the station has rail links towards Birmingham and Worcester. Well presented, well looked after and well placed. Get in touch today and come and see it for yourself.
