The attractive brick frontage creates a welcoming first impression, with the property's traditional styling sitting comfortably within its surroundings. Stepping inside, the ground floor opens into a spacious and inviting living room, beautifully presented with soft neutral décor, comfortable carpeting and a large window overlooking the front. There is plenty of room for sofas and additional furniture, creating a relaxing space to unwind or spend time with family and friends.
Also on the ground floor is a generously sized double bedroom, positioned towards the rear of the property and benefiting from its own contemporary en-suite shower room. Finished with modern tiling, the en-suite includes a corner shower enclosure, wash basin and WC. Having a bedroom with its own bathroom on this level provides excellent flexibility, whether accommodating guests, older children or family members who would appreciate a little more independence.
Stairs lead down to the lower ground floor, where the kitchen/diner provides a particularly appealing space for everyday family life. Measuring approximately 17'7" at its longest point, this generous room has been thoughtfully designed to combine practicality with style. Shaker-style cabinetry in a soft neutral finish is complemented by warm wood-effect worktops, attractive brass-effect handles and subtle green walls, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The kitchen offers excellent storage and preparation space, with a gas hob, extractor, integrated double oven and full-height cupboards.
The dining area comfortably accommodates a family-sized table, making it an ideal setting for everything from busy weekday breakfasts to leisurely weekend meals. French doors open directly onto the rear garden, allowing the space to extend outdoors during warmer weather, while a separate WC provides additional convenience on this floor.
Upstairs, the first floor offers three further bedrooms and a family bathroom. The largest bedroom on this level is a comfortable double with plenty of space for bedroom furniture, while the second is another well-proportioned room, currently arranged with twin beds. The fourth bedroom is presently used as a home office, demonstrating the flexibility of the accommodation and offering an ideal space for those working from home. Alternatively, it could make a nursery, child's bedroom or dressing room.
The family bathroom is finished in neutral tones and comprises a panelled bath with shower over, wash basin, WC and chrome heated towel rail, providing a practical and well-presented space for everyday use.
Outside, the east-facing rear garden is a particularly attractive feature of the home. Beautifully landscaped and designed with low-maintenance enjoyment in mind, it offers a lovely setting for outdoor dining, relaxing and entertaining. A raised decked seating area sits immediately outside the kitchen, perfectly positioned for enjoying breakfast or a morning coffee in the sunshine.
The garden has been thoughtfully arranged with substantial raised flower beds, established planting and a striking ornamental Japanese maple, which creates a lovely focal point. Decorative stone, a water feature and paved pathways add further character, while a substantial timber shed benefits from a power supply, providing useful storage with the added practicality of electricity. Gated side access is another welcome feature, allowing access to the garden without passing through the house.
A further benefit is the gated off-road parking situated to the rear of the property, providing a convenient space for residents. For visiting friends and family, a pay-and-display car park is also located close by, offering a practical parking option.
The location is equally appealing. Rochester's charming High Street is approximately 0.4 miles away, offering an excellent selection of independent shops, cafés, restaurants and traditional pubs, all set amongst the town's historic architecture. Rochester Castle and Cathedral are central to the town's character, while the riverside provides opportunities for leisurely walks and enjoying the surroundings.
Throughout the year, Rochester hosts a variety of popular events, including its Dickens Festival and Christmas markets, creating a lively atmosphere and a genuine sense of community. For commuters, Rochester's high-speed railway station is also just 0.4 miles away, providing convenient connections towards London. The wider area offers a choice of schools, local amenities and recreational facilities, while access to the A2 and M2 makes travelling throughout Medway, Kent and beyond straightforward.
What makes this home especially appealing is how comfortably it accommodates different lifestyles. The three-storey arrangement provides a natural separation between the main living spaces and bedrooms, while the ground-floor en-suite bedroom offers additional privacy and flexibility. The spacious kitchen/diner and attractive rear garden provide wonderful areas for spending time together, with the separate living room offering somewhere to relax.
Beautifully maintained and ready to enjoy, this four-bedroom home combines generous accommodation, practical features and an excellent location within walking distance of Rochester's historic centre.
Offered to the market with no forward chain, an internal viewing is highly recommended to fully appreciate everything this lovely home has to offer.

Rochester boasts an abundance of History and is heavily connected to Charles Dickens, the Dickens festival being one of a number of themed weekends held in the high street throughout the year. The cobbled high street is a huge attraction for its independent boutique shops, quaint cafes, highly recommended restaurants and traditional pubs. Rochester Cathedral and Castle sit on the edge of a sweeping bend of the River Medway. Whilst famous for it’s historical connections, Rochester has also seen significant new riverside development in recent years, making it attractive from a lifestyle and commuting perspective. Its newly built station offers High Speed rail links to Stratford International in 30 minutes or St Pancras International in 38 minutes. London Victoria is also accessible in just 52 minutes. Trips to the continent are also within easy reach via the Eurostar, which departs from nearby Ebbsfleet. In any part of the town you are never too far from road links, the A2 and M2 are easily accessible in under 5 miles. With the M20 and M25 approximately 10 miles away. Rochester and near-by Chatham offer a fantastic range of primary and secondary schools, as well as the University of Greenwich, Kent and The Creative Arts.

What The Owner Says:
"I moved into Ruxton Square in March of 2020. Quite a challenging time for us all - but the other residents in the Square made me feel very welcome and shared information from a distance. I have loved seeing all the children growing up and going to the primary school opposite and then on to a variety of Secondary schools, all in walking distance. There is a very wholesome atmosphere in the Square with a wide range of ages and people. I have absolutely loved the proximity to Rochester High Street and all it has to offer. The town can be heaving with people here for festivals, music, or general historic visits, and one is able to go down and join in with all the festivities and escape back to Union Street with it’s quiet order and calm. Being so close to the train station has made it possible for friends to come through to spend time in the town with me, or for me to go off to London or Canterbury on the train for a show. The Vines is a great place to walk or take the children to play with a ball, and there is an annual cherry festival there which is so much fun. The Cathedral is a very active part of the community and holds interesting exhibitions, has an adventure golf range in the summer, and wonderful concerts throughout the year – from rock and roll to classical music. I love being able to walk down the High Street and buy fresh fish from the cj Hook, fresh veggies and fruit from Austens, dog food from the Hound Hut and a decent bottle of wine from Rochester Wine Emporium, not to mention the wealth of delicious baked goods from many places along the High Street. All in all I have had a very happy time living here. I have regularly entertained family and friends with a Barbeque in the garden, and in the summer it is really peaceful to sit out on the deck. It’s a great place to live."
