Why the current owner loves the flat
For starters, its huge! You won’t find a maisonette of this size around for miles (and I spent a long time looking). The main attraction though is the jaw dropping view from the living room and upstairs master bedroom. You can see all across South East London, over to Crystal Palace and Brixton, and to the right is a stunning view of London City and Canary Wharf. At night, it’s great to see it lit up, and sunsets have been continually breathtaking. I am also a huge fan of observing the showers and thunderstorms in the past few years while feeling warm and cosy indoors. Every year, I host a New Year’s Eve get together as the view of the fireworks are marvellous. Every season brings its own beauty, and the view is undoubtedly the thing I will miss most.
The upstairs bedrooms are very big and comfortable. The previous owner had all the windows upgraded. The apartment stays very warm in the winter due to it being on the top floor; the use of the radiators has been very minimal in previous years.
The apartment has so much storage space, every room hiding another cupboard or built in closet so there is more than enough space for all your possessions. Being on the top floor has the advantage of having a loft, but I haven’t had to use it due to all the other storage spaces being more than enough. Being on the fourth and fifth floors, it is secure from any street access as it is locked behind a security door entrance and out of the way of the main walkways. I always have deliveries placed outside the door and I have never had any go missing. The building’s security door has also been recently upgraded to include a camera which links straight to an app on your phone.
Street parking is included with the property and the service charge is very low, which is surprising as the open spaces are regularly cleaned and the green spaces maintained. A new playground was also added recently to one of the green spaces. The landowners are highly reactive to any maintenance requests and always support with any needed information and resources.
The neighbours are very friendly, quiet and respectful. I have never had any issues with any neighbours and almost never hear any sound coming from the surrounding apartments due to the thick walls (also a rarity these days!).
There is also a very quirky upstairs balcony which comes out of the bathroom via a door. It is perfect for drying laundry, additional outside storage or even as an outdoor sitting space if you would like to read and enjoy the sun. It also doubles as a weather shade for the front door.
