We have absolutely loved living in this little pocket of Hackney and would happily stay if we didn’t need more space for our growing family.

The garden has been one of the greatest joys of the house. In summer, the kitchen window becomes a serving hatch for drinks and food, and we’ve enjoyed barbecues, dinners with friends and even watching football outside. It has also been a wonderful space for our children, with fresh herbs and, at times, our own fruit and vegetables.

Inside, the house is full of character, with original features, beautiful bay windows and high ceilings. We also love having our bedroom downstairs, which stays cosy in winter and wonderfully cool in summer.

We’ve made so many happy memories here, from bringing our second baby home to birthday parties, cosy winter evenings and long summer nights in the garden.

We also love the area so much that, while looking for somewhere bigger, we’ve already viewed two properties on the same street! Lower Clapton has a fantastic community feel, with brilliant restaurants, cafés, wine bars, The Elderfield, l’Epicerie and Chatsworth Road Market nearby. There are great schools, playgrounds, the marshes and plenty of activities for children close by.

We feel incredibly lucky to have lived somewhere with such a strong sense of community, great food and greenery on the doorstep, and we hope the next owners love it just as much.
