Sought After Location
A bright and characterful one bedroom apartment situated on the first floor of an impressive Grade II listed Georgian terrace in the heart of Islington.
The standout feature of the apartment is the open-plan kitchen and reception room, where two impressive floor-to-ceiling sash windows, together with the high ceilings, create a wonderfully bright and airy living space. There is ample room for both comfortable seating and dining.
The bedroom is compact but cleverly arranged to accommodate a double bed and benefits from fitted storage, while the accommodation is completed by a modern bathroom.
Dating from the early 19th century, the building forms part of an attractive Georgian terrace on Liverpool Road, combining period architecture with an exceptionally convenient central Islington location.
Liverpool Road is superbly positioned for the extensive selection of independent shops, cafés, restaurants, bars and boutiques found along Upper Street and around Angel. Islington Green and Camden Passage are also within easy reach, while Angel Underground Station and Highbury & Islington provide excellent connections across London.
The property is offered to the market chain free with vacant possession, making it an ideal first purchase, pied-à-terre or investment.
Owner’s Insights
What do you love about the area?
Having lived in Islington for 12 years, the location has always been one of the biggest attractions for me. Angel Underground Station is around a seven-minute walk away, with Highbury & Islington roughly 12 minutes in the opposite direction, giving easy access to the Northern, Victoria and Overground lines.
Upper Street is only one street away, so there is an amazing choice of independent restaurants, cafés, bars and shops right on the doorstep. Camden Passage is also a favourite for coffee, browsing the shops or just going for a walk at the weekend.
It is incredibly easy to make spontaneous plans with friends locally, whether that is meeting for coffee, going out for dinner or simply having a walk around the neighbourhood. At the same time, Liverpool Road itself feels much more residential and peaceful, particularly in the evenings.
What do you love about the apartment?
The flat has been an amazing first home and the amount of natural light has always been one of my favourite things about it. The high ceilings and large sash windows make the reception room feel especially bright and open, and seeing the cherry blossom directly from the living room each spring is always a highlight.
The layout also works really well for entertaining. We have an extendable dining table that comfortably seats up to ten people, and the reception room is large enough to accommodate a sofa bed for friends staying over.
The bedroom is positioned at the rear overlooking neighbouring gardens, which helps make it feel quiet and peaceful. The bathroom has also been refreshed using high-quality finishes, including a Duravit WC, Ideal Standard fittings and a contemporary microcement finish.
The building itself has a very friendly atmosphere and the neighbours are always helpful, which has made it a really enjoyable place to live.
