Description
Vespers is an outstanding contemporary country house in an elevated, edge of village location, backing onto farmland and with glorious long range country views. Constructed in 2021 the property has extremely well arranged, light and spacious accommodation over two floors, being of a steel framed construction, with a striking mix of traditional stone and timber clad elevations, under a pitched, part Zinc, part clay tiled roof. The building is designed to have an agricultural feel, to suit the landscape and there are two distinct wings, or barns with a contemporary single storey link providing a splendid and spacious reception hall. An impressive space that greets you as you enter the house and a large glazed screen frames a view of the garden and the stunning country views beyond. In the west wing on the ground floor, is a study and shower room and a large reception room currently housing a swimming pool and fitness equipment. On the first floor is a splendid guest bedroom suite with vaulted ceiling and exposed oak frame and fabulous country views. There is an additional walk-in closet and a further double bedroom with en suite. Back on the ground floor in the east wing is a utility room with door to outside, a cloakroom and a superb, well appointed kitchen. Beyond that is the main reception space, with a spacious sitting room and dining area with large expanses of glass providing stunning views over the gardens and open countryside beyond. On the first floor is a particularly nice landing space and access to a luxurious principal bedroom suite, incorporating a seating area, ‘his and hers’ dressing rooms and a good size en suite with bath and shower. Across the landing are two further double bedrooms, both with en suite bathrooms.
Outside
The house is approached from the lane where Ham stone pillars support two electrically operated 5 bar gates. The smart resin driveway sweeps around to the front of the house, culminating in an area of parking for two to three cars and access to an attractive timber framed cart shed style double garage with workshop. The garden is predominantly laid to lawn and surrounds the property, enclosed on the side boundaries with fencing. To the rear is a spacious terrace taking in the long range views. A hedge divides the garden from the field which is currently cultivated, as part of a larger agricultural holding in separate ownership, but this could be subdivided if required.
