Tucked into one of central Bromsgrove's most established residential roads, this well-proportioned four-bedroom detached home has been loved by the same family since the early 1980s. It offers generous, flexible family living throughout, with a fitted kitchen/breakfast room, an open-plan lounge and dining room, four bedrooms (all with fitted wardrobes), an en-suite to the master, and an integral garage. Outside, there's a manageable rear garden and driveway parking for multiple cars. This is a genuinely well-loved family home, ready for its next chapter.
We asked them what made them buy it...
"My first impression was that I liked the look of the property from the road. It was a modern house, only two years old when we bought it, and the Georgian windows were what really attracted me. The road and the general neighbourhood appealed to me too. My previous home was a few streets away, so I already knew the area well. West Road is a lovely road, every house is different, and it's so handy for the town centre. We even have a WhatsApp group. The neighbours are wonderful, always looking out for each other, and that's created a real sense of community. Sanders Park has always been a favourite for a walk, and Sixty Degrees on the High Street is where I go if i'm down the town. I've also been a member of U3A, involved in a poetry group, and I go to a book group at the library.
What about the house itself?
"i've never stopped loving the main bedroom, it's so spacious, and having an en-suite was quite unusual back in the 1980s. The large living and dining room has always been a favourite too. I spend most of my time in the living room at the back of the house, it's light and airy and looks straight out onto the garden. The house catches the sun in the morning at the back, then again in the evening at the front. The kitchen was redone about twenty years ago, and all the bathrooms were updated two or three years back. People are always surprised when they step inside for the first time, it's so much bigger than it looks from the outside. I've lived here for forty-six years and I have so many happy memories of life here with my late husband. I'll miss it all, but especially the neighbours, who have been such a support."
Our agents say...
This is a home that's clearly been cherished, and it shows. The open-plan lounge and dining room is a real asset for modern family life, and there's genuine scope in the layout, including the potential to convert one of the smaller bedrooms into a home office. The garage comes with its own power and lighting, plus an internal door through to the house, and there's scope (subject to the usual permissions) to extend the living space further still. Practical touches like a fairly new boiler, cavity wall insulation, and a boarded loft with ladder access mean there's real peace of mind here too. The location is hard to beat: Excellent schooling nearby, including the prestigious Bromsgrove private school, and the town centre within easy walking distance, whether you go via Stratford Road, New Road, or the alleyway. Aston Fields station is close by, and the M5 and M42 are both within easy reach. This is a home that's had one family for nearly half a century. Get in touch and come see why.
