Owners Insight
"We’ve lived in this property since May 2018. Having decided to move closer to family in our later years, we viewed this barn complex on a number of occasions and was very impressed with the builder’s/developer’s approach to the renovation. He has structurally strengthened the existing listed building, which has now been converted into three separate dwellings and upgraded internally to provide a modern, well insulated and comfortable home, whilst retaining the barn’s 18th century character.
The open private courtyard is a haven shared by the three properties, protected from the road by the enclosed ‘Linhay’ which provides individual storage units to each dwelling. The enclosed rear garden is a similar wildlife haven. The barns’ character is further enhanced by the new thatched roof laid by a local thatcher. We are close to shops and other local amenities with open countryside nearby.
We have loved living here but now is the time to downsize to a smaller property."
Step Inside
Large, impressive reception hall with oak flooring and storage cupboard. The family room enjoys a window overlooking the front of the property and original oak beam. Cloakroom with wood effect flooring, vanity unit and WC. Utility with provisions for washing machine and tumble dryer, white gloss fronted units, black worktop and round sink unit. The superb open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room forms the heart of the home, with the kitchen area fitted with grey gloss fronted units, oak worktop and built-in sink. Integrated dishwasher and provisions for fridge/freezer, along with a five ring gas hob with fan assisted oven and extractor above. A breakfast bar provides additional informal dining space, with a high level window bringing further natural light into the kitchen. Within the sitting area, an electric fireplace creates a cosy focal point, while bi-folding doors open directly onto the garden. Further floor to ceiling feature stained glass windows and original oak beams.
Step Upstairs
From the reception hall stairs rise to the Galleried Landing with a partly frosted window between the hallway and bedroom two. The principal bedroom enjoys an outlook over the rear garden and benefits from an en-suite with shower, wash hand basin and WC, along with its own dressing room. Bedroom 2 enjoys a window to the front of the property and also benefits from an en-suite with walk-in shower, wash hand basin with cupboards under, and WC. Bedrooms 3 & 4 both with windows overlooking the rear garden. Family bathroom with double ended bath, separate shower cubicle, wash basin with drawers beneath and WC. All bathrooms and en-suites are finished with black marble effect panelling and wood effect flooring.
Step Outside
The property is set back from the road behind a brick wall, opening onto a shared access with two allocated parking spaces and a large storage area to the front, forming part of the old cider apple store that is now enclosed. To the rear, a decked area leads directly from the bifold doors, opening onto a tree lined and mature, shrubby garden with a lawned area at its centre and a summer house to the rear.
