The Sellers View...
I moved to Ashcroft Road with my two young sons over 40 years ago, it has been a wonderful family home. The location is perfect for a young family, a safe cul de sac for learning to ride a bike and Oaken Grove Park literally a short walk away. We spent many happy hours there in the park, and as they grew older it was close enough they could venture on there own with friends to kick a ball around. There is a cafe in the park, a lovely play area for the young ones, and it is used for kids football clubs. There is also a Bowls Club that I may have been tempted to join if I were staying in the area.
There is a sadness in leaving the family home, the memories of water fights in the back garden, games at the dinner table and opening of presents on Christmas mornings won’t fade. I have maintained our home with some pride but now that i’m fully retired it is time for me to move on to a new location and new adventures.
My neighbours have been great keeping an eye on my home when I have been globe trotting around and for them, I am very thankful. The transport links to Heathrow are excellent and the Elizabeth Line makes getting into London so easy now.
I will miss friends and family but being a Maidonian, i’m sure I will be visiting often. My hopes are that the next owners are as happy and content as I have been here.
