What the sellers say:

"My husband and I moved into our gorgeous little cottage when we were just starting our life adventure together. It needed a lot of work, but I fell in love with it’s charm. Even our cat was happy as the cottage backed onto allotments which he loved sunbathing in. Especially whilst I worked on trying to grow some vegetables! (Yes, we could access our own allotment from our back garden gate!) What I adored most was the fact that I was a five minute walk to the shops in one direction and a five minute walk to Westerham’s beautiful park in the other, yet the cottage location was super peaceful and quiet. It was my sanctuary. I couldn’t have asked for more. Friends and family would always want to stay because everything was so convenient. The men in particular would love going for a drink in one of the local pubs, followed by a bit of food and then not having to grab a taxi because home was within walking distance. Over the years my husband and I tweaked the cottage so that it lended itself more to modern day living. We landscaped the garden and added a Summer House which was often used when we held parties. We enjoyed many glorious evenings up on the top patio with friends, cooking homemade pizzas in our makeshift pizza oven. Then when we had our first son, I would regularly take my stroller to the park for a bit of fresh air, always chatting with locals en route (the Westerham community is so friendly) and more often than not, I would do a full circuit and grab a coffee in one of the local independent cafes for some much needed caffeine on my way home. I hope the next occupiers of this special cottage get to experience all the joys of Westerham. I will miss it so much."

Charming Three-Bedroom Cottage in a Delightful Semi-Rural Setting

Nestled along a quiet and picturesque lane, South Bank is a charming semi-detached cottage enjoying an enviable location within easy walking distance of the historic market town of Westerham, renowned for its independent boutiques, cafés, restaurants and everyday amenities.

Named after the stream that gently runs alongside the lane, this attractive home offers a wonderful blend of character, practicality and countryside charm. Beautiful kerb appeal is provided by climbing roses framing the property, an inviting open porch and off-street parking for one vehicle.

Stepping inside, a useful boot room and separate utility area provide excellent practical space, helping to keep household noise and laundry away from the main living areas. The spacious lounge/dining room is full of character, featuring wooden flooring, plantation shutters and a working fireplace, creating a warm and welcoming heart to the home.

To the rear, the kitchen enjoys views over the patio and garden beyond, with tiled flooring and a skylight allowing natural light to flood the space. The ground-floor bathroom is fitted with a bath and electric shower, while a side door provides direct access to the patio and garden. The property also benefits from convenient side access.

Upstairs, there are three double-glazed bedrooms. The principal bedroom is particularly charming, featuring an original Victorian fireplace, dormer windows and useful built-in cupboard storage.

Outside, the private patio provides the perfect spot for outdoor dining and entertaining, with steps leading up to a delightful, elevated garden. A garden room currently serves as a home office, while a further shed offers additional storage. Beyond the garden, the property enjoys a peaceful outlook backing onto mature trees, countryside and allotments, creating a wonderfully private and tranquil setting.
