Why the owner loves the property:
Why we love Lower Panteg! Access to the Black Mountains via the green lane that is adjacent to our property - great for walking dogs or horse riding. Dark skies - fantastic star gazing without any light pollution. Perfectly private yet with easy access to the A479 - Hay on Wye and its international literary festival is a 25 minute drive away. Fantastic neighbours and community - with our local pub a ten minute walk from our door it’s the perfect place to get to know people. Amazing views down the Rhiangoll Valley, to Myndd Troed, Castell Dinas and the Black Mountains. Lower Panteg ‘fair hollow’ - we are tucked away and sheltered from the winds in our cosy farmhouse. Lots of bird life, we’ve just enjoyed watching a song thrush raise her three chicks in one of our box bushes, we see red kites, hear cuckoos, owls, curlews, and look forward every year to the return of the swallows. We also have hedgehogs who visit the barn to share the cats biscuits. Our house is cosy and warm with lots of original features and a range of stone outbuildings that offer potential for housing an animals or conversion (subject to necessary consents). The larch trees that grow on our land are a constant source of joy, and in folklore are said to ward off evil spirits. We have a mixed woodland at the bottom of the property which is carpeted in May with native English bluebells. We have loved living here for the past 18 years and have made some lifelong friends along the way.
