A cottage in the centre of Diss, close to the market place and 5 minutes from the Station
From the balcony off the third bedroom of our lovely cottage the view looks out over Diss Mere and the roofs of the town. It is the sort of view people move to Norfolk hoping to find. Don't just take our word for this; read what people who stay in the cottage say in their reviews The cottage is on Denmark Street, in the middle of the Conservation Area. It is believed to date from the 1800s, and is timber framed with interior beams exposed.
Downstairs are the kitchen/dining room to the rear, with an entry from the parking area and double doors onto the courtyard garden, and the living room at the front with a front entrance to the street. Both rooms are almost 7 metres, the full width of the house.
Upstairs there are three double bedrooms. The third opens onto the balcony and the view. A family bathroom with bath is supplemented with an extra WC and a shower in one of the bedrooms.
The off road parking area is to the side of the house and has a gate to the courtyard garden at the rear, which is entirely enclosed. Also in the garden is a powered and plumbed utility room which adjoins the house.
A new gas combination boiler went in during 2026 and carries a 12-year warranty.
Diss sits on the south Norfolk border, at the top of the Waveney Valley, with open countryside a few minutes out in any direction. The town has a proper working centre of independent shops, pubs and a weekly market, and the mainline station runs direct to Liverpool Street and to Norwich, which is what makes a house like this work for people who need to be in London some of the time and nowhere near it the rest.
