The walled garden was created by the award-winning landscapers Addis Garden Design of York, and the homeowners worked closely with Michael Addis to agree on a design, a planting scheme, build program. The beautifully hand-crafted Oak Arbour, the small raised bed area, to the amazing plants, and the copper beech hedgerows and is a haven for wildlife and nesting birds. There’s a quiet patio area at the bottom of the garden which was purposely designed to catch the last of the sun on an evening and is nicknamed “shady nook” perfect for gin and tonics and an amazing place to sit and listen to the birdsong on a summers evening, or even practice night of the church bell ringers on a Wednesday evening, whatever the reason, it’s a perfect place to chill with friends & family.

Greenhouse

Granted the appropriate planning and listed building consent, a dwarf wall, and a 3m x 2.5m S.W. Traditional timber greenhouse was constructed, supplied, and installed, with temperature-controlled roof lights.

Central Heating System

These chases, once piped and cabled were then covered with stainless mesh, and lime plastered by Rydale, All light switches and sockets in the house are bespoke brushed stainless period items supplied by Scholmore Click Deco.

Windows & Doors

Erw Windows and doors worked closely with the conservation officer & architects and the brilliant stained glass and leaded windows specialist Brian Lane, to re-manufacture a new rear bay window and entrance door, and replacement of 8 large timber windows using the original glazing panels. Secondary double glazing panels incorporating Pilkington K heat retention glazing for many of the original stone and new timber windows were supplied and fitted by Storm Windows, based in Halesowen which specializes in creating slimline, heritage-approved panels.
