This has been an extremely comfortable flat for our family of three. We love to gather in the living room in the evenings to watch tv and enjoy the cosy wood-burning stove. The large kitchen/diner is a wonderful place to hang out, cook and socialize and watch the birds on the feeder from the dining nook. The garden is divided into sections, the patio for sunbathing and dining, greenhouse and veg/flower plot in the middle and a 'secret garden' at the end with a deck for evening sun and handy shed (with new roof). A bonus feature is our drive which holds two cars and a bike store - a rare thing in London!
We can walk to Alexandra Palace for world class concerts, theatre, ice skating and a variety of festivals and conventions throughout the year. We also tend to walk to the tube (East Finchley or Highgate) but there are frequent bus services from either end of Sutton Road.
Muswell Hill has a wonderful community atmosphere, great shops and restaurants, a regular French market and Everyman cinema just 10 minutes’ walk up the road.
We often do a ‘three woods walk' taking in Coldfall, Cherry Tree and Highgate Woods ending up at the Muswell Hillbilly taproom on Avenue Mews which has its own microbrewery and hosts various events including monthly quiz and comedy nights.
This is a great area for schools and a huge Tesco is only 10 minutes’ walk down the road.
Sutton Road itself is quiet with a lovely Whatsapp group where neighbours share information and offer free furniture and other items (even food!)
We brought up our daughter in Muswell Hill and we’re very sad to leave but it’s time for us to move out of London to be closer to our families.
