There is a regular train service from Glasgow or Ayr to Stranraer, Portpatrick is about 7 miles from Stranraer and there is a regular bus service to Portpatrick. Nearest airports are about 2 hours drive Glasgow Prestwick Airport (1 hour 40 minutes) and Glasgow International (2 hours 15 minutes). Travel by road from the North is via the A77 (Stranraer) from Glasgow and from the South the A75 (Stranraer) from Dumfries.
