The Lake District has long held a special place in our hearts, and this two-bedroom flat in Kendal offers the over-55s a chance to explore the rugged beauty of the fells without sacrificing urban comforts and convenience. On the ground floor of Websters Yard, a gated retirement development in the town centre, it’s a short stroll from the shops, cafes and restaurants on Highgate and Stricklandgate, yet just a few minutes’ walk from the Lake District National Park. Excellent transport links by bus, rail and road make this an ideal base for downsizers who want the best of both worlds.
The step-free flat has double and single bedrooms, a large living and dining area, a wet room with a walk-in shower and access to a communal courtyard, lounge and laundry facility. There’s plenty of scope for making the place your own: The kitchen is in need of a refresh, the bathroom could be beautified and the second bedroom would make a great studio for arts and crafts endeavours, or for your podcast project, with a skylight and a corner window letting in plenty of sunshine. There are emergency cords throughout the flat and Websters Yard has a 24-hour manager service.
