Smarty Art is a most unique and attractive business, which operates as a craft studio, with the majority of income being derived from ceramic art painting. The business operates year round with a full 7 days operation during the summer season and school holidays, and weekend only opening for the rest of the year. Customers are welcome to drop in without booking and there is a regular clientele who frequent the business as well as the many holiday makers etc who visit the area. Occasionally evening workshops for groups, hen parties or one off events have taken place but this is not an activity the current owner has encouraged, preferring to open day time hours only. Customers have a choice of ceramics to paint with prices starting from £8 up to £30, with any extras or special effects being charged separately. Tea and coffee is also available for purchase as well as a range of cold drinks and sweets. Kits can be purchased and taken home to paint or given as gifts. Gift vouchers and loyalty cards are also available. Postage is charged if items are sent on rather than collected.

The business is well laid out with tables and chairs to comfortably seat 24 customers. The current owners have invested in the business and have installed an attractive utility area, tea and coffee area, energy efficient lighting and have also improved the storage and toilet areas. Previously a kiln was located in the rear drying room and the isolation switch is still in place. Included in the sale the kiln (currently in the owners garage) could easily be installed again within the building.

This fully equipped business is presented in truly walk-in condition and new owners will have no major capital expenditure to commence trading. The current owners are prepared to offer guidance and advice to new proprietors to assist with a smooth transition. Reason for sale
The current owners purchased Smarty Art in October 2015 and spent the next couple of years improving the business and investing in the internal aspects. Unfortunately the health of the main operating owner became an issue and service had to be restricted eventually resulting in the premature sale of Smarty Art today.

Grantown-on-Spey has a variety of facilities for residents and visitors and sits at the confluence of three major tourism “trails” dedicated to golf, castles and distilleries, and activity play areas such as Landmark and Craggan Outdoors. The town has a strong residential element and healthy tourist trade many of whom frequent the award winning caravan site. With its own excellent 18-hole golf course, Grantown-on-Spey is also near to the famous Boat of Garten Golf Course. In addition, the Cairngorm Mountains offer a range of mountain sports from trekking in the summer to skiing in the height of winter.
