  Whether it’s a new mortgage, a remortgage, a house sale or a let what sets Mark apart from the crowd apart from his extensive knowledge and experience is his never say never attitude and his ability to find a way for his clients no matter what. Approachable and likeable Marks ability to explain things in a way you will understand makes having him on your side a real asset. His depth of experience and knowledge in both the financial services and property arena is just staggering and has been accumulated from both his 25 years of experience and his thirst for knowledge and qualifications. He began his career in financial services with companies such as HSBC, the Woolwich and Devere & Partners as a Senior Financial Planning Manager but in 2006 decided to go out on his own set up Jarlands and bring his local town the benefit of his experience. A local man through and through Mark is the Chairman of the Peacehaven & District Chamber of Commerce and is passionate about the growth of the local economy. The qualification list which in his modest way he won’t mention includes CertPFS with the Chartered Insurance Institute having completed Certificates in Financial Planning, Equity Release, Mortgage Advice, Financial Planning & Lifetime Mortgage Activities, Life & Pensions, R01 Financial Services Regulation & Ethics. Mark also holds the Propertymark (formerly National Federation of Property Professionals) Technical Award in Sale of Residential Property. In his spare time Mark enjoys trying to keep up with his three sons, Ashley, Thomas & Owen, spending time with his partner Lisa, all things Rugby along with periodic (and sometimes successful) bursts of enthusiasm for keeping fit!

  Matt Gray

  Senior Negotiator

  Matt can proudly boast to have more knowledge of the housing market than just about anyone having gained a wealth of experience during his 15 years in the property industry. Having started in a large estate agency he then moved onto the big leagues working at the sharp end in the property department at the Argus where he spent 11 years. This period gave Matt an unrivalled understanding of the market as he interacted with all the local estate agents on a weekly basis and saw just about every property that came onto the market. This unique perspective is what makes Matt so effective, he has an uncanny ability to spot when a property is under or over priced and what subtle changes are needed to turn a property that is sticking into one that flies out the door. In his spare time Matt is an active member of the local bowls clubs and pretends to the staff here at Jarlands that he likes to cycle even though we know his tyres are flat!

  Property Business Development

  Working in the busy property department Lisa has a keen eye for detail and uncanny ability for pricing property. Educated to degree level Lisa provides office support, mentoring and management of standards throughout the Jarlands team.

  Sophie Powell

  Letting Department

  Sophie works with new and existing landlords and tenants to provide service, support and management of the lettings. Dedicated to quality of service Sophie is excited to be working towards her industry qualifications in pursuit of excellence.

  Gareth Derrick

  Financial Services Department

  Working within the growing finance department Gareth holds a Level 3 Certificate in Mortgage Advice with The Chartered Insurance Institute and is a member of the Society of Mortgage Professionals. In his spare time Gareth enjoys spending quality time with his wife and sons, taking long strolls with Lola the Labrador, and can often be heard plucking a tune on his guitar.
