Interior designer and popular TV presenter Julia Kendell took time out at the recent Homebuilding and Renovating Show to tell us how she makes a new house feel like a home.
“The first thing to unpack would be photographs and candles and something that’s going to create a really soft ambience for you,” she says.
“So that first evening, when you’ve opened a bottle of wine or put the kettle on, you can sit back on the sofa – hopefully that’s unpacked – and have something that’s meaningful, a sense of you family history already inside.”
