In the late 19th century the name was changed to North Kensington and in the 1920s many of the large Victorian villas were converted into flats. After years of decline, North Kensington has become a very desirable place to live and is often described as the new Notting Hill. North Kensington is in the London Borough of Kensington & Chelsea and postal district W10.
