Richmond is an affluent suburb in the London Borough of Richmond-upon-Thames in South West London and covered by postcode TW10. Some of the property in Richmond dates back to the early 18th century: the Trumpeter's house was built around 1700 and still exists. Close by is a well-preserved terrace of three-storey houses called Maids of Honours Row. They were built in 1724 for the trusted royal wardrobe servants of the wife of George II. From the 16th century, tournaments and archery contests have taken place on Richmond Green and from around 1650, so have cricket matches.
