The postcode of NW5 covers three areas: Kentish Town, which comes from the Celtic word for green, ken; Gospel Oak, which was a tree on the Southampton Road; and Dartmouth Park, a residential development due north undertaken by the Earl of Dartmouth in the late 19th century. But, Kentish Town is the heart of NW5 with its spine, Kentish Town Road, running north from Camden Town. Eastern parts of Kentish Town managed to avoid the worst of post-war planning and are blessed with a variety of 19th century properties some, of which, have been converted into flats.

Charming, three-bedroom Victorian houses to rent in Kentish Town close to transport links, schools, and shops are available for £2,800 per month. One-bedroom flats to rent in Kentish Town are £800 per month with two-bedroom flats closer to £1,000 per month.

Amenities for properties in Kentish Town
