Enfield Council created Oakwood Park in 1927, named after Oak Lodge which stood nearby. It's an area on the northern edge of London and was, historically, part of Enfield Chase. To the north it is bordered by the glorious green swathe of Trent Country Park and, in the south, by Winchmore Hill and Southgate. Oakwood's houses exude 1920s and 1930s stockbroker charm, built in leafy streets, close to parks, and with generous gardens. Newer townhouses and purpose-built flats are often in gated developments.
