Originally the main workshops for the Bishops Nympton Estate, this historic grade II listed property sits on a half acre site in the very heart of this traditional village and the substantial barns originally provided stables, a wheelwrights and cooperage. With ample parking and a large level private garden, the current owners have adapted the barns to provide workshops and storage for their own business. Requiring modernisation the house dates back to at least 1730 and in an early census it was known as Church House indicating that it could have been the Manse for the adjacent Church. On the ground floor there is an entrance hall, a living room and separate sitting room, a large kitchen/breakfast room, and a cloakroom.
On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. The house also retains a variety of features which relate to its original history and various changes in uses. Attached to the house is a large 2 storey barn with heating and power which has commercial use as a workshop. On the opposite side of the entrance courtyard is a large L shape stone barn and at the head of the courtyard is an 80ft garage store which also provides access to a mature level garden which enjoys views over open fields. Suitable for a variety of residential/commercial uses this unique set of building have obvious potential for an extension of the house and/or conversion of the barns (subject to planning consent) and the Vendors sole agents strongly advise a full inspection.
