Wolleigh is an impressive Victorian family house built we understand in 1891. The high quality building materials from this era are immediately apparent as one enters the entrance hall, where there is an intricate mosaic tiled floor and a stained glass window and a substantial solid oak front door. The large hall with its impressive staircase also has its own fireplace. The drawing room is notable for its generous proportions and its two triple bay windows in addition to two further windows, which make the most of the southerly views towards Newton Abbot and Torquay and a wonderful view of Dartmoor to the west. The sitting room with panelling to dado height and full length windows has an ornate carved fireplace. Slightly smaller reception rooms include a rear study and an office. The kitchen/breakfast room has hand-built units with polished granite worktops, Belfast sink with drainer and matching island unit, as well as an LPG gas-fired range cooker. A pair of French windows from the kitchen leads into the wonderful conservatory which brings the views into the house and provides extensive entertaining space. The conservatory has two pairs of doors onto the surrounding sandstone terrace.
There are five splendid first floor bedrooms, the two largest of which have ensuite bathrooms and the master bedroom also has a dressing room.
The owners have created an attractive second floor guest appartment with a kitchen, a south facing sitting room, a double bedroom and a luxurious bathroom.

Wolleigh House occupies a superb, slightly elevated position just outside the eastern edge of the Dartmoor National Park, with far reaching views over open countryside. The house is situated about 1.5 miles from the town of Bovey Tracey, in the direction of the much favoured and pretty village of Lustleigh, which retains its village cricket pitch and amenities centred around the church and the village green and includes an unspoilt inn. The small, yet vibrant town of Bovey Tracey has a church, health centre, banks, Post Office, wide range of shops, garages and inns and is able to meet most everyday requirements. A more comprehensive range of educational, cultural, recreational and shopping facilities is available in the cathedral city and county town of Exeter, about 16 miles to the north east.
The dramatic Dartmoor landscapes lie a short distance away, some of which can be seen from the house. A short drive from the house there are some impressive granite tors, notably Haytor as well as picturesque moorland villages of Widecombe-in-the-Moor and Manaton.

The garden principally lies to the south with a flight of steps leading to the formal lawns, a pond with fountain and below this a fine rock garden designed in the early period of the house with a water cascade. There are well-stocked shrub and flower borders and to one side of the main lawn is a cedar summer house.
Across the drive and behind the cottages is a south facing additional area of lawn and a vegetable garden. There is large recently extended timber garden store and greenhouse with power and light connected.   Large pole barn / machinery store with power and light connected. To the east of this garden and the house generally is an attractive stand of mature trees.
The land lies principally to the south of the house and comprises a number of very attractive fields and beautiful woodland. The land was entered into an Environmental Stewardship Level 1 Scheme and has been managed with conservation in mind and to encourage wild flowers of which there are many. On the eastern boundary there is an ancient green lane which leads to an unspoilt meadow, known as Foot Piece upon which is an old barn and a pond with many water loving plants. This ancient green lane continues beyond Foot Piece to a further field known as Wolleigh Down.
In all the land extends to some 44 acres.
