Situation: Nether Auchendrane House enjoys a beautiful location on the banks of the River Doon approximately 4 miles south of Ayr. The property is sheltered and secluded by surrounding woodland and is set amidst its own grounds of about 22 acres, bordered to the east by the river. Ayr is Ayrshire's foremost town and as such offers a good range of high street shops, supermarkets, recreational and professional facilities. In addition there are a number of well-renowned restaurants and excellent private schooling at Wellington School for children of age 3 to 18. The Ayrshire coast is famous worldwide for golf with championship courses at Royal Troon, Turnberry (the venue for the Scottish open in 2009) and Prestwick, all of which are within easy reach. There is also excellent sailing with yachting marinas at Troon and further up the coast at Largs and Inverkip. There is excellent shooting on nearby estates.

Nether Auchendrane is a beautiful C-listed country mansion which dates back to the 17th century. The property has been extended over the centuries in a typical Scottish vernacular style but the original keep-tower can be clearly observed. Internally, Nether Auchendrane has been lovingly restored to an exacting standard. Original features have been reinstated and the house has been equipped for modern day living.

The main formal reception rooms are located on the first floor which ensures the rooms are not only naturally bright but also take maximum advantage of the beautiful river views. 11 bedrooms are located within the main house. Many bedrooms also have river views and, if not en suite, have access to an adjacent bathroom. A more recent extension to the property added a block of eight en suite bedrooms and a sitting room. This area, which was constructed in the early 1990's, offers scope for further development to a variety of uses, such as an indoor swimming pool, function space or bed & breakfast accommodation.

The grounds of Nether Auchendrane reflect the care and attention of the house itself. There is approximately 22 acres of formal gardens, amenity woodland and grazing. The gardens extend to the banks of the River Doon and include tranquil riverside walks. A garage exits to the South of the property.
