Description

Saddlewood Manor is approached down a long drive flanked by its own paddocks and farm land leading to a gravelled parking area beside the north of the house. The house has pretty elevations built of Cotswold stone with stone mullion windows under a Cotswold stone tile roof. It dates from the late 17th Century with later additions. Internally many original features have been retained, including carved stone fireplaces, exposed beams and natural floors, whilst the property has undergone extensive renovation works including the creation of a superb kitchen/breakfast room, a large entrance hall and utility area in addition to an impressive multi-media room/library. The house is perfectly suited to family living and entertaining, enhanced by the large party barn/club room in the adjacent stone barn.
The front of the house is west facing overlooking the drive and ornamental gardens. To the rear of the house several formal gardens with stone walls, lead to an Orchard and the paddocks. Close by are the Cottages, Dovecote, Swimming Pool complex, Stabling, Outbuildings and a large Barn with potential for conversion subject to the necessary planning consents.
The outbuildings and stable yard are presently used as a polo centre, providing extensive stabling and grooms facilities in the traditional stable yard (with scope for alternative uses, subject to planning) with a large American Barn situated to the south west, providing further stabling or alternatively general purpose storage if required.
The land lies predominantly to the west of the house comprising mainly paddocks separated by post and rail fencing.
