Number 4 Barrapol is an extensively-refurbished farmhouse-style property and represents an excellent investment as a permanent home, holiday home or holiday letting premises on the sought-after Isle of Tiree.  Set in open countryside, the property enjoys views to the front towards the fresh water lochan, Loch a’Phuil

Number Four is pleasantly situated within open countryside in the scattered settlement of Barrapol on the west of the island.

The island of Tiree is approximately fourteen miles long and five miles wide.  It is famous for its many stretches of long white sandy beaches and lush fertile land.  The traditional low-intensity farming methods and the enriching effects of wind-blown sand sustain a wide variety of insects and birds, including the rare corncrake.  In recent years the island has also become well known for its excellent windsurfing.  It has a primary school, six-year secondary school and good recreational facilities as well as shops, garages, bank, doctor, vet and other everyday requirements.  The Co-Operative store at Scarinish also has a wide selection of groceries, fruit and vegetables and wines.  There are builders and other tradesmen, a business centre and a local newsletter, the An Tirisdeach.

The island is served by a daily (except Sunday) flight from Glasgow and a regular car ferry service from Oban.  The ferry journey from Oban to Tiree takes approximately four hours.

From the ferry terminal, take the Scarinish road towards Crossapol.  Continue through Crossapol and turn right at the T-junction and then almost immediately left at the next T-junction (signposted Heylipol).  Continue through Heylipol and straight over the next crossroads (where there is a church).  4 Barrapol is the next property on the left hand side.

The well-presented accommodation over two floors consists of a spacious porch doubling as a bright sunroom to the front of the house, a good-sized dining kitchen, a family bathroom, dual aspect sitting room and three bedrooms.  Much of the property’s interior is attractively finished in wood panelling.  The property is double glazed and is heated by electric night storage heaters and two open fires.

The house is accompanied by a good amount of garden ground (currently uncultivated) and a large parking area
