The village of Old Buckenham is just off the A11 and is about 3 miles south of the market town of Attleborough, granted the right to hold a weekly market in the 13th century, and still exercising that right every Thursday to this day.  Wymondham about 8 miles north and is a delightful market town.  It has some outstanding old buildings a good range of shops and other facilities.  Diss is approximately 8 miles away, lying in the beautiful Waveney Valley. There is a market operating every Friday coinciding with a local antiques and collectables auction held at Gazes Saleroom. Speciality markets, flea markets and farmers market are also held regularly.
